My Makings for Red Barn

So every year Kirksville does Red Barn where vendors come in and sell their arts and/or crafts. There were 9 other girls who participated with me. This was on Saturday, the 17th. It started out crazy with the rain but it ended up stopping - SO GLAD!! We had a lot of fun doing this. I stayed pretty busy the month before making all this stuff. I love doing things like this where you stay super busy making things and then get to try to sell them and see if people like what you made. I made tons of earrings, pillows, bobby pins and some bows. Our booth was always busy and we all sold a good amount of our things. I was so happy it was a success and not just a big waste of time. I think I had the most fun making the pillows. It was my first attempt trying the flowers on them and they turned out great - YAY! I'm addicted and want to make more already. Here are the pics of what I made and I have some left overs of some items if you are interested?? :) I'd also LOVE to hear what your favorite pair of earrings are and also your favorite pillow? Thanks!

Tanner's 1st Soccer Game

I couldn't be more proud that Tanner is playing my sport - SOCCER!! I played in high school and couldn't wait until he was old enough to play. This year he made it by 1 day. He has practice once a week on Thursdays for like an hour and a game every Saturday for 6 weeks. He has some friends on his team which makes it even more fun for him. It was so fun to watch this first game. Just a field of 4 year olds running up and down the field sometimes running to the wrong goal, or running off the field at any moment to get a drink, some crying when they fall, sitting on the grass when they feel like it (you will see a pic of that one below :)). It was so cute. I have to admit it was a little hard for me with my competitiveness in sports when he would just run around the field and not going after the ball. But he is so stinkin cute and doing a great job. He LOVES to run. Not sure where he got that.....ok, I do know :) He had a lot of fun and their team won 3-0 i think. Anyway with this age it's all about having fun and not keeping score. I tell Tanner - just go out and have fun and GO AFTER THAT BALL...haha! He had his 2nd game this last Saturday and I missed it due to participating in Red Barn which will be my next post. Nate said he did much better at going after the ball and almost made a goal. It's so fun to get your kids involved in sports and to practice with them at home. Way to go Tanner!! Jocie even had some fun. It was hard to keep her off the field. She wanted to play too.

"Make a funny face" - love it!

Such a cutie pie

Team Pic - they did a good job at making them smile/laugh

"Tanner smile and pose for a pic"........

"No really pose" and this is what he gave me :)

Precious face waiting patiently for his game to start

Enjoying the grass or not.... not sure

Getting ready to start

Tanner loves to be the goalie

His cute Dad on the sidelines helping him out :)

Towards the end of the game Tanner decided he wanted to just sit on the field and have a pouty face. I have to say it was pretty cute.

Sky Diving - YEAH!!

(Sorry, long post but couldn't forget one second of this experience!! )  I DID IT!!! Yesterday I went sky diving and it was really just indescribable. All I can say is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. Last year at the air show is when I noticed that they offered sky diving. It's something I've always wanted to do and it's on my bucket list so I told myself at that time that I would do it next year.....which is now this year...haha. Anyway, so I had been saving little by little all year so I could do it. Nate told me a couple weeks ago "Hey Ter, the air show is coming up....you still wanting to sky dive?" I thought heck yeah! Then last week I thought, I better call and get it set up. I called and he told me to come Saturday around 3. So after I hung up is when my stomach was turning a little bit because I now had my appointment. So yesterday finally came. We woke up, went to Tanner's first soccer game (which was so much fun, I will post about that later :)), came home and got ready for his party with his friends and then drove up to the K-Ville airport which was where the skydiving and air show was held. I had to sign a ton of little paragraphs. My favorite one was something like "I realize that sky diving is an extremely hazardous and dangerous sport in which I could get injured and/or die"________sign here. I took a deep breathe and signed it, paid my dues and waited. They gave me a 10min prep course on what was going to happen in the air, for the jump and what to do when you land. Then we waited some more and then some more. My friend Jen and her two boys showed up to watch which was super awesome of them. I felt bad though because long story short I didn't end up jumping until 7:20. So we all were waiting forever.....PURE TORTURE. It actually got to the point where I really didn't even feel nervous anymore because it was taking so long. The kids were being great just playing together and Nate major helped out with chasing them all around while Jen and I talked about how crazy this really was. They finally strapped on my gear. I told the guy "make it as tight as you can, I don't want to fall out", he just laughed. After they got it on me Tanner said "Mom, that outfit looks really good on you". It was hilarious!! Then the air show went on which was pretty cool but at the same time sucked because we had to wait for them to finish before we could go up in the air so it was just more time to wait. Then I hear "Tera, it's time" My stomach turned and I walked over to the small plane. Much smaller then I pictured. I hopped in, Nate ran over and took a pic and then they shut the door. I was thinking....this is it, I can't believe I'm really doing this. Then the plane took off.... this was it, can't back out now. As we were flying up he was explaining a little more of what was going to happen and what to do. One of the guys looked over at me and said "Now you want to make sure that your goggles are on PERFECT because if they aren't and they fly off in the air, your eyeballs will get sucked back into your head" My eyes got huge and I said "Wait, whaaaaat"? He said "Just Kidding" I told him "So not cool". We all had a good laugh. Then we just waited until we reached 10,000ft. After about 15-20min, we reached 10,000ft and the pilot said ok open that door. My stomach turned some, they opened the door and I screamed "Whoo hoo". They had this little thing to step on outside of the plane that we had to get onto. I stepped out of the plane, onto this small lever thing, looked down (thought oh crap) and he said quickly "ready, set, jump" and down we went. SCHNIZZLE SNAPP....I was free falling from the sky and my heart was at the top of my head. The adrenaline rush was amazing!! It was a 30sec (1 mile) free fall. It was a little hard to breathe falling down that fast but I kept thinking just be calm, deep breaths, I don't want to knock out the dude and then not get the parachute popped up. Then he popped the parachute and there we flew in the air. We did a couple of cool spins and then practiced a little of how we would land. When we landed it didn't go as smooth and we had a sweet crash landing. Luckily neither of us were hurt. It was actually kinda funny. I had some other friends that came to watch, Aimee with her fam and Sarah with her fam. It made it SOO much fun to have some friends there to watch and support my craziness. Thanks gals - you are awesome!! Then the sky diving crew gave me a sweet certificate that I will treasure forever!! We left and I was all smiles all night long! This was the one of the funnest things I've EVER experienced and by far the craziest. And yes, I'm SOOOOOOO happy to still be alive!! Gotta enjoy life to it's fullest right... :) Enjoy the pics and thanks babe for getting so many to keep this memory alive, love you tons!!

I think everyone should try this. It really was amazing!! What an experience!

Happy 4th Tanner!!

Tanner turned 4 which fell on Labor Day this year. I was so glad because Nate had that day off so we got to spend the entire day together as a fam. Since we had a really fun weekend in St. Louis, we didn't do much on his actual B-day. We let him pick all his meals and whatever he wanted to do that day. The night before when he was asleep, Nate and I blew up a ton of balloons and threw them all over the house  and hid his presents and some easter eggs with little candy and things in them (this was due to him previously finding easter eggs the week before and having fun putting toys in them and playing "Easter")  So we thought he'd have fun with finding the eggs, which he did. Then I hid them away so we don't have to play that again until Easter :) Anyway,  he picked french toast for breakfast, chicken nuggets for lunch and taco's for dinner and then a chocolate cake with batman on it and then with sprinkles. We just kind of played all day inside and out in our backyard. We made sure to ichat with both grandma's so they could see him open the presents they sent him as if they were really here. I'm so thankful for the awesome technology we have today. It was a fun day. Then on Saturday the 10th, he had his friends party...aka his GREEN LANTERN party. I think they all had a lot of fun. I know Tanner sure did. He has some pretty awesome friends. Happy Birthday Tanner! We love you so much buddy!!
