Super Hero

Yesterday the SAA had their monthly children's social. This time it was at ATSU in one of the big class rooms and the kids dressed up like super hero's and got to watch a movie on the big screen and eat popcorn. Tanner wore his batman cape and I drew the batman logo on his cheek. He had lots of fun and was the cutest super hero I've ever seen :)

Love these kids of mine

Tanner is 3 1/2 and is hilarious. He is such a good boy and such a big helper.  He loves playing with his baby sis, his friends and loves to be outside. In this pic we were at the park and it was pretty bright so he asked if he could wear my sunglasses. I think they look better on him :) I love my boy!

Jocelyn is now 11 months. I can't believe she will be one next month. She too is hilarious. She said her first word the other day (besides the basic mama, dada and baba). She waves and says "Hi". It's so cute. She is such a happy smiley baby who loves her brother. She watches and follows him constantly. She has so many face expressions and makes funny noises. I love my girl!

The Final Days of Spring Break

Well it's now Sunday which means Nate goes back to school tomorrow, so sad. It's been SUCH a fun week. We've enjoyed every minute together. We finished the week with hanging out with some friends, taking a long evening walk around the town, completed my 20 miler as stated in the previous post and then Nate and I even got a date night and went out to eat without the kids. We are now taking the last day relaxing and enjoying each other. What a fun week!! Now we will have summer break to look forward to - YAY!

Jocie and her wild hair (I like to get it wet because it's easier to put in a little ponytail but then she rips it out and her hair stays standing straight up :)

We took an evening walk around the town

There was a beautiful sunset

20 miles COMPLETE - STOKED!

So for those of you who don't know, I'm signed up to run the St. Louis Marathon that's coming up on April 10th. Today was the LONG run before the race.... the 20 miler. I've been dreading this day but yet looking forward to it as well. Ashley and I went to the lake at 8 this morning and completed it. Sad to say I'm still sore. It will be interesting to see how I feel tomorrow. The thing that made it harder for me was I've been used to running on the treadmill since it's been so cold, which means a flat surface. At the lake today we did so many hills that my legs are wondering what happened to them :). But it's all good. 3 weeks until the marathon. I'm SUPER stoked. Thanks Ash, I couldn't have made it without you and Jen you were missed girl!
Before the run

After the run - totally exhausted but still so HOT...haha :)

LOVE this and love it some more! Couldn't have made the run without this either.

Or without this

Wow, my screen is so dirty but this is always a must have with a long run as well.

St. Pats Day

We had such a fun St. Patrick's Day. Someone found my purse that had missing since early December and turned it into the police. They sent me a letter to come and get it so I did today. What a great way to start the day.... sounds kinda funny but I know the ladies know what I'm talking about. Finding a lost purse is like finding a pirate's treasure, well not quite but anyway.. then we went out to eat lunch at Steve's Deli and then went and got Tanner a "green" frosted donut because we felt bad we didn't even think about making green pancakes or something for breakfast (next year). He loved it. Then we had a fun night with friends. We ate Boogie Boards and played Wizard which was SO much fun. It was a stellar day!!!

Stoked!
Was so excited for his green frosted donut

"I Like Frosting" - I laughed when he said that because it's a little obvious when you look at his donut:)

Spring Break Mon-Wed

We have had SO much fun having Nate home with us that I don't think I'm going to let him go back! On Monday we were invited to go bowling and it was a blast. Tanner bowled a 101 which I think was higher score than mine - that a boy! Nate had his game on too. He bowled like a 126 or something which was the highest score he's got since we've been married. Anyway, then on Tuesday we took a trip down to Columbia to spend the rest of my B-day $ at the mall and then went to a place called Bonkers. It's a huge indoor play place. We were there for like 3 hours. Tanner had a blast. Jocie had fun on the little car rides. It was SO cute! Then on Wednesday I did my 9 mile run, Nate went shooting with one of his buddies and then we were invited to some friends house and had a YUMMY dutch oven dinner and then had one of the greatest treats of all times - SMORES BABY! I already want Smore..... get it.. haha.. ok it's pretty late and I'm tired. So anyway we've had a lot of fun so far. Please rest of the week go REAL slow so we can continue to enjoy our time together :)
Checking out his bowling skills

I LOVE this face Jocie makes at the camera. What a cutie!

Tanner wanted to be the ball boy

In Columbia - Jocie on her first ride and obviously by her face you can tell she LOVED it (as did her big brother :))

Tanner and Daddy at Bonkers

"Follow me Dad" "Are you coming?"

She was on this car for like 20 minutes... not joking :)

"Watch out Boys"

"Where am I and what are these strange things sitting by me?"

Tanner dancing to the music - this was HILARIOUS. I got a video of this that I need to figure out how to post so you can check it out. You will die of laughter.

Won lots of tickets from one token. He must have his Grandma Alcorn's luck :)

Scary.....

Roasting his 1st Mello

"Why is it brown?" -he wasn't sure at first because they turned a little brown but after he tried it we couldn't get him away from them.

A week with G.G.

My mother-in-law just left today after we got home from church. She stayed with us for 8 days. It was SO much fun. She really made finals week SO much better than it would've been. While she was here we went to Columbia twice, to a couple cute boutique's in Iowa, out to dinner one night WITHOUT the kids...FUN, had a chick flick night and then watched a super suspenseful movie on Friday night that we could all barely handle. Tanner was attached to her hip from the moment she arrived to the moment she left. It was hard to say goodbye but as fast as time goes, we will be home for summer in no time. THANKS my sweet mother-in-law for coming to visit. We had a blast and we love you SO much!
This was right when she got here. They couldn't stop looking at grandma.
Jocie kept peeking at her from Tanner's room :)

Fun in Columbia

Tanner would growl like a lion each time he came around. It was pretty funny. Everyone was laughing.

This was the beautiful sunset on our drive home from Columbia, so pretty!

We love you so much!!

Birthday Bash

Yesterday I turned 28 and for my birthday got more wrinkles :(..... and while Nate was at school I got two packages in the mail. I had to wait until he got home to open them. I chose spaghetti for dinner and Lemon cake with a "WHIPPED" cream cheese frosting for dessert...YUM!! It was SO good. Nate let me take a nap and relax right when he got home from school around 3. I opened my two gifts which was a cool T-shirt and a pair of sweet dress pants. He is so amazing, sweet, thoughtful and treats me so good. I love you babe. Thanks for everything. Him and the kids made my birthday so special... along with all the sweet phone calls and messages from friends and fam. Thank you for the fun day. I love you all so much!!
